Peter Sorensen, the European Union’s envoy for the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue, held high-level talks in Berlin with Geza von Geyr, State Secretary at the German Foreign Office, and Gunter Sautter, the chief foreign policy advisor to Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
In a post on platform “X” (formerly Twitter), Sorensen described the meetings as “very good first meetings,” highlighting Germany’s continued support for EU-led efforts to move the normalization process forward.
“Always good to be in Berlin. Grateful for Germany’s support to EU efforts,” Sorensen wrote.
The meetings come at a time when Brussels is seeking to reinvigorate diplomatic momentum between Pristina and Belgrade amid lingering political tensions and stalled implementation of past agreements.
