Despite the Eid al-Adha celebrations, the workers of the Regional Waste Management Company “Pastrimi” in Pristina continued their protest in front of the Municipality building, demanding solutions to the ongoing financial crisis that has severely affected their company.

The strike, organized by the workers’ union, has entered a critical phase, with protesters refusing to back down until their demands are fully met.

Key Demands Presented to the Municipality of Pristina:
Return of all unlawfully collected funds by the municipality to KRM “Pastrimi”, enabling the company to resume waste collection immediately.

Public statements by municipal authorities urging citizens to pay and receive bills only through KRM “Pastrimi”, not via third parties.

Removal of all private operators involved in waste collection, and full enforcement of the current municipal regulation.

Cessation of all misinterpretations by municipal officials, emphasizing that any actions outside the legal ruling are illegal and jeopardize the jobs of 900 workers.

Commitment to transparency and cooperation in the future, ensuring the union is involved in all decisions impacting workers’ rights.

Union representatives stressed that they will not end the strike until every demand is addressed, warning that continued inaction risks not only environmental health but also the livelihoods of hundreds of families.
