Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on Saturday that U.S. involvement in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel would be “very, very dangerous,” according to a report by the BBC.

Araghchi claimed without providing concrete evidence that “the U.S. has been involved in Israel’s aggression since day one.”

He also stated that Iran “cannot continue negotiations with the U.S. while the Iranian people are being bombed,” but did not rule out the possibility of a “negotiated solution” concerning Iran’s nuclear program.

“Diplomacy has worked in the past and it can work again in the future. In order for us to return to the diplomatic path, the aggression must stop,” Araghchi said.

U.S. President Donald Trump had previously approved plans for a military strike on Iran earlier this week, but has given the Islamic Republic’s leadership a two-week deadline to abandon its nuclear development program.

Fighting between Israel and Iran has now entered its ninth day, with Israel aiming to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
