On the final day of his official UK visit, U.S. President Donald Trump met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers, the official countryside residence of the British Prime Minister, to sign a major technology partnership agreement.
The historic deal is set to create thousands of jobs and attract billions of dollars in investments in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and nuclear energy.
Speaking at the start of the meeting, Starmer highlighted that Trump’s visit had reinforced the “special relationship” between the UK and the United States for a new era.
President Trump called the agreement “the next logical step in a historic partnership in science and technology” during the signing ceremony.
The two leaders are also expected to discuss U.S. steel tariffs and other international issues where the countries differ, including the conflicts in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Windsor Castle, with full ceremonial honors. Trump becomes the first sitting U.S. president to be invited for two official state visits to the UK, having first visited in 2019 under the late Queen Elizabeth II.
This agreement marks a significant milestone in UK-U.S. technological collaboration, signaling strong future partnerships in key scientific and strategic sectors.
