Kosovo has secured another medal at the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, with judoka Flaka Loxha winning bronze.
Loxha received a bye in the opening round before facing Italy’s Michela Terranova in the quarterfinals. The Kosovo judoka produced a strong performance, defeating Terranova by Yuko to advance to the semifinals.
In the fight for a place in the final, Loxha faced Croatia’s Ana Viktorija Puljiz. This time, however, the Kosovar judoka was defeated by Waza-ari, ending her hopes of reaching the final.
Loxha still had an opportunity to fight for bronze and she made the most of it.
In the bronze-medal bout, she faced Türkiye’s Aysenur Budak and secured victory, earning her place on the podium and another medal for Kosovo.
