Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that international criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza is increasing daily, and that Turkey will continue raising the Palestinian issue in all international forums.
Speaking during a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the presidential complex in Ankara, Erdogan described the Israeli offensive in Gaza as a “new phase of genocide”, warning that the situation threatens the stability of Palestine and the wider region.
“Turkey will be the voice of Palestine at the UN General Assembly,” Erdogan said, emphasizing that the urgent priority is an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and halting the humanitarian crisis.
He also called for unity within the Islamic world in response to Israeli actions and stressed the need for political consolidation among Palestinian leadership, according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed bilateral issues, as well as regional and global developments.
