The Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA) will respond positively to any invitation from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) to discuss the formation of the new government.

With twelve days remaining for LVV, as the first party in the February 9 elections, to form a government, NISMA MP Xhevahire Izmaku told KosovaPress that her party “has a political responsibility and there is no reason not to be at the discussion table with LVV.”

She emphasized that if the formation of the new government depends solely on the three votes of NISMA, “then there will be no conditions regarding the creation of new institutions.”

However, Izmaku highlighted the need to “clarify the position of the Speaker of the Assembly,” since, according to her, the legislature should not function with a figure that has caused divisions.

LVV leader Albin Kurti was mandated as Prime Minister by President Vjosa Osmani on October 11. Kurti stated yesterday that over the weekend, after analyzing the local election results, he would begin negotiations for forming the new government.
