The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has reacted to Xhafer Tahiri’s agreement with Vetëvendosje for the Vushtrri runoff, stating that the coalition was made without the authorization of the party leadership and will be sanctioned.
LDK’s full statement:
The Democratic League of Kosovo informs its membership and the public that no local coalition has been authorized without following the statutory procedures of the party.
The actions of our candidate in Vushtrri to form a coalition with another party are individual acts, unacceptable, and contrary to LDK’s statutory procedures.
LDK expects first to analyze the performance of the candidate and the Vushtrri branch, after which the appropriate decisions will be made.
Actions like today’s are without value and contrary to LDK’s democratic practice. They will receive procedural treatment according to the Statute after the conclusion of the local elections. LDK is currently focused on its own runoff campaign and not on the campaigns of other parties.
