Fadil Nura, Mayor of Skenderaj, has formally requested PDK leader Memli Krasniqi to remove two representatives of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) from the Central Election Commission (KQZ).

This request comes after suspicions of vote theft in several polling stations and schools in Mitrovica, which are now under investigation by the prosecutor’s office.

“Their behavior was regrettable, and they failed to defend the dignity, political stances, and interests of the PDK,” stated Nura.

According to his statement, PDK members at the KQZ represent the party as a whole. He criticized the two members for failing to protect the party’s political positions and respond to repeated provocations from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) during KQZ meetings.

“Instead of contributing to the defense of PDK’s positions and responding to insults and repeated attacks, these members failed to protect the dignity and political stances of the party. Such behavior damages the credibility and image of PDK in a key institution like the Central Election Commission,” Nura added.

He demanded immediate action from PDK leader Memli Krasniqi to dismiss the two members and replace them with representatives who demonstrate high professional and political integrity. These new representatives should uphold the party’s interests and safeguard the votes of Kosovo citizens.

This move highlights the ongoing political tensions between PDK and LVV, and raises concerns about electoral integrity in Kosovo, particularly in regions historically associated with electoral disputes.
