Acting Finance Minister Hekuran Murati responded to a formal letter from Prishtina Mayor Përparim Rama requesting the unblocking of the 2025 city budget.
Through a Facebook post, Murati called on Rama to urge the LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku and other deputies of his party to vote on Prishtina’s 2025 budget in the Assembly.
“Përparim, tell Lumir and the other deputies to vote for the Prishtina Municipality budget for 2025 in the Assembly. It’s that simple,” Murati wrote.
Murati added that since public clarifications seem ineffective, he is forced to file a defamation lawsuit against Përparim Rama and anyone else spreading misinformation about alleged budget blockages.
“But since public explanations do not seem to work, I am compelled to submit a lawsuit for defamation against Përparim Rama, as well as anyone else who continues to misinform about supposed decisions to block the budget,” the acting minister stated.
