Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has admitted that he fears the United States may lose interest in facilitating a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin in Dublin, Zelensky expressed optimism about U.S. efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

“There was a bit of optimism in my remarks due to the pace of negotiations and the interest shown by the American side. This demonstrated that America is not withdrawing from diplomatic dialogue, and that is a positive sign,” he said.

However, when asked whether he was concerned that the United States could eventually lose interest in the peace process, Zelensky acknowledged that this possibility worries him. “Yes, I am afraid. If any of our allies becomes tired…” he said, adding that Russia’s goal is to “draw American interest away from this situation.”

Zelensky also stated that he is awaiting feedback from the American negotiators after Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. He added that he is prepared to meet again with President Donald Trump, but such a meeting depends on the success of the talks in Moscow.
