Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on Saturday accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of ordering a massive missile strike “with cynicism” while delegations from Ukraine, Russia, and the United States were in Abu Dhabi for U.S.-mediated peace talks.
“These barbaric attacks once again prove that Putin’s country is not at the peace table, but on the bench of the Special Tribunal,” Sybiha wrote on X (formerly Twitter), according to The Guardian via Rks News.
Russia launched waves of airstrikes against Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukraine’s two largest cities, early Saturday morning, leaving one dead and at least 23 injured.
Sybiha added:
“Efforts for peace? The trilateral meeting in the United Arab Emirates? Diplomacy? For Ukrainians, this was another night of Russian terror.”
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia deployed 375 drones and 21 missiles, again targeting energy infrastructure, causing widespread power and heating outages across large parts of Kyiv.
