The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has called on the non-majority community not to hesitate but to respond to the population census. According to him, the census of the population, households and housing is one of the most important undertakings for our country.

“Everyone’s participation is not just a statistical record; it is a powerful statement of the identity, rights, and place of each citizen in our society. Census is not just a bureaucratic exercise; it is the mechanism through which we shape policies and allocate resources to ensure that every citizen, regardless of ethnicity or faith, gets the support and services they deserve. Based on it, the state budget is divided and distributed. Its results determine the social and development policies of the state, investments in your communities, subsidies in your support, programs and social and health services,” he said in a video. He stated that the registration is an official documentation of the composition of our society.

“Only with a complete and accurate registration will we be able to know best how many kindergartens and schools you need; how many cultural, recreational and sports spaces should be planned in the service of your communities; what social programs and policies meet your needs and so on. Registration is official documentation of the composition of our company. Its data then become a reflection of our policies and the responsibility of the state and our institutions. Registrars will come door to door. Welcome them as the good host that you are. Non-majority communities are the value and identity of our state. Our society is rich because you are part of it. So, don’t hesitate, register”, he said.

The Statistical Agency of Kosovo has announced that until yesterday, 530 thousand citizens were registered in the Population Census process. Likewise, over 36% of the facilities in Kosovo are registered. Meanwhile, 180 thousand members have been registered from the diaspora and over 50 thousand through the e-diaspora platform. In Kosovo, the registration process will last until May 17.
