Relations between Kosovo and Montenegro are strong, as they should be between neighboring countries—very friendly and supported by a shared European and Euro-Atlantic perspective, said Montenegro’s ambassador to Kosovo, Bernard Čobaj.
“For Montenegro’s foreign policy, good neighborly relations are a cornerstone, and we believe that regional cooperation brings development, stability, and moves us all closer to our goal—the European Union,” he stated during a morning program on RTK.
Čobaj emphasized that Montenegro is the most advanced country on the path toward EU integration and will unconditionally support Kosovo in its European and Euro-Atlantic journey.
“The experience and expertise of Montenegro will be shared with Kosovo when requested. We have an agreement between our governments since 2022, which enables cooperation, especially in the context of European integration,” added the ambassador.
He noted that cooperation is taking place through regional and bilateral mechanisms, including the 2024 political dialogue in Pristina, where the parties agreed to establish agreements in culture, education, economy, and legal assistance.
According to Čobaj, it is now expected that the Government of Kosovo will finalize these agreements.
