Lumir Abdixhiku, the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has declared victory in five municipalities following the November 9 runoff elections — Prishtina, Peja, Viti, Dragash, and Junik, reports Reporteri.net.
Abdixhiku stated that tonight, the Republic of Kosovo has spoken through the voice of trust and hope, rewarding hard work over division.
“Tonight, the Republic of Kosovo spoke through the vote — through trust and hope — and in the name of work, beyond noise, insults, and division. The LDK, the great house of civic values, has won today. We won with honesty, dedication, and with the best people this country has,” said Abdixhiku.
He also invited citizens to join the victory celebration at Ibrahim Rugova Square in Prishtina.
“LDK declares victory in Prishtina, where Përparim Rama has been re-elected mayor for another four years. Rama and LDK received 51.5% of the votes, or about 47,000 ballots. We won in Prishtina, where work and culture define our political identity. I invite citizens to celebrate tonight from 21:30 at Ibrahim Rugova Square in the capital,” Abdixhiku added.
He emphasized that the victory belongs not just to the party but to the citizens of Kosovo.
“This victory is not only ours; it’s the victory of every citizen who believes in hope over fear. It is a victory for a Kosovo that rejects division. Tonight, we also announce victories in Peja (61%), Viti (52%) with Sokol Haliti, Dragash (60%), and Junik (60%). Therefore, tonight, LDK celebrates victory in five municipalities,” concluded Abdixhiku during his press conference.
