Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has announced that, together with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, she has signed the decision to extend the mandate of Agon Bytyqi as Deputy Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA).
According to Haxhiu’s announcement, Bytyqi will continue to perform this duty for another five-year term.
She emphasized that his experience, knowledge of the institution, and the responsibility demonstrated during his first mandate were assessed as important for the continuity and professional work of KIA in protecting the country’s security.
Haxhiu announced that Bytyqi was thanked for his previous work, while he was also wished success in his new mandate.
The Kosovo Intelligence Agency is the institution responsible for collecting and analyzing information of importance for the country’s security.
Who is Agon Bytyqi
The reappointed Deputy Director of KIA completed the Faculty of Law at the University of Pristina in 2008, while he completed his master’s studies in the field of law in 2012.
Bytyqi completed part of his studies in the United States.
He also passed the Bar Examination in 2018.
He has 11 years of experience in the field of security, as well as in international cooperation.
Bytyqi was appointed to this position in July 2021.
