Albania and Kosovo are preparing for a joint parliamentary session scheduled for mid-January 2025 in Pristina. The session is being organized by Albania’s Speaker of Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, and her counterpart from Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca.
In an interview with Top Channel, Spiropali explained that the joint session is crucial for coordinating both countries’ national agendas to achieve strategic objectives. These include Albania’s EU membership, Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration, the protection and advancement of the rights of Albanians, and increasing the role of the Albanian factor in the development, democratization, peace, and security of the region and beyond.
The meeting will also review the implementation of 30 joint intergovernmental agreements between Kosovo and Albania. Both Prime Ministers, Albin Kurti and Edi Rama, along with the Speakers of Parliament and deputy group leaders, are expected to speak. The main focus of the session will be on further intensifying the relations between the two countries.
