Albanian Armed Forces Put on a Spectacular Show in the Skies and Seas of Vlora for the 112th Anniversary of Independence

To mark the 112th anniversary of Albania’s Independence, the ships of the Naval Force and the troops of the Special Operations Regiment put on a spectacular display, waving the national flag in the skies over the city of Vlora.

The Minister of Defence of Albania, Pirro Vengu, shared photos of the event.

He mentioned that thousands of citizens gathered in the Flag Square and along the Lungomare, extending as far as Orikum, to witness the impressive skills and capabilities of the elite troops of the Armed Forces.

“The Armed Forces celebrated the 112th anniversary of Independence in the city of the flag, where helicopters of the Air Force, ships of the Naval Force, and the troops of the Special Operations Regiment performed a spectacular show, waving the national flag in the skies over Vlora,” Vengu wrote on Facebook.

Thousands of citizens gathered in Flag Square, as well as those along the Lungomare and down to Orikum, witnessed the abilities and capacities of our elite Armed Forces, who demonstrated in the Bay of Vlora an operation to take control of a suspicious vessel. The operation involved sea-based intervention with boarding teams and air support with special forces and helicopters, including Cougar and Black Hawk helicopters. It was a festive day in the city of Independence.
