Following Kosovo’s historic 2:0 victory over Sweden in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti praised the national team, calling it Kosovo’s best result ever against Sweden and one of the most important wins since defeating Switzerland.
In a post on social media, Kurti wrote:
“The best result we have ever had against Sweden, and the best possible after the match with Switzerland. Our Kosovo with an extraordinary victory that did not take long in these World Cup qualifying matches. We are second in the group. Congratulations!”
With this triumph, Kosovo now stands second in its qualifying group, significantly increasing the chances of securing a historic World Cup qualification.
