The Legislation Committee has approved the constitutional amendments proposed by President Vjosa Osmani with a vote of 6 in favor and 2 against.
The decision came after a lengthy debate marked by disagreements among committee members.
President Osmani submitted the amendments to the Kosovo Assembly less than ten hours before the constitutional deadline for the presidential election, a race in which she was left out by Vetëvendosje, which instead proposed Glauk Konjufca as their candidate.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) voted against the amendments.
