Kosovo has achieved another success on the international sporting stage, as two Kosovar kickboxers, Nart Kastrati and Art Dulaj, won medals at the WAKO World Cup held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The international competition, held from October 13 to 18, 2026, concluded with two medals for Kosovo: one silver and one bronze.

Nart Kastrati claimed the silver medal in the under-81 kg category after reaching the final, while Art Dulaj secured bronze in the under-67 kg category.

According to the Kosovo Kickboxing Federation, more than 2,530 athletes and delegation members from over 48 countries participated in the sporting event.

Kosovo was represented by a three-member delegation led by Fatmir Makolli, President of the Kosovo Kickboxing Federation, alongside the two athletes, Kastrati and Dulaj.

Makolli described the achievement as particularly significant, given that the medals were won in Uzbekistan, a country that has yet to recognise Kosovo’s independence.

“For us, this achievement carries special significance. In a country that still does not recognise our state, our athletes represented Kosovo with pride and dignity, demonstrating that sport is one of our country’s most powerful ambassadors on the international stage,” Makolli said.

With these two medals, Kastrati and Dulaj have once again brought Kosovo into the international spotlight, demonstrating the potential of Kosovar athletes in world-class competitions.
