American soldiers assigned to the Regional Command East of the KFOR mission, led by NATO, are conducting patrols within the municipality of Leposaviq.

This was announced by KFOR in a Facebook post on Monday.

The patrol is part of KFOR’s daily mission to ensure a safe and stable environment for all communities living in Kosovo.

“KFOR continues to carry out its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, which aims to guarantee a safe and stable environment for all citizens and communities in Kosovo, as well as ensuring freedom of movement at all times and impartially.”

KFOR is the third responder in emergencies, following the Kosovo Police and the EULEX mission, with which it closely cooperates to ensure stability and security.

During the day, Latvian KFOR soldiers also conducted a routine patrol within the municipality of Zubin Potok.

According to NATO’s announcement, patrols are among several activities KFOR carries out on a daily basis to support sustained security throughout Kosovo.
