The trial over the Banjska attack continued today with closing statements from the accused Blagoje Spasojević.
Spasojević told the court that he feels responsible for being present in Banjska, but denied direct involvement in attacks against people.
“I am guilty for being in Banjska, but I did not terrorize anyone. I fired only two bullets toward a reflector,” he reportedly said.
His defense argued that his actions should be legally classified only as “armed rebellion” under Article 115 of the Criminal Code, and not as terrorism or crimes against the constitutional order and security of Kosovo, as charged by prosecutors.
The defense position seeks a requalification of the charges, potentially reducing the severity of the case linked to the events of 24 September 2023.
The proceedings are now in their final phase, with a court verdict expected in the coming period.
