KFOR Commander Enrico Barduani stated that KFOR provided the necessary support in response to the terrorist attack on November 29th on the main Iber-Lepenc canal.
Barduani added that while the terrorist attack occurred, KFOR responded swiftly to secure the affected area, and emphasized once again that both KFOR and NATO strongly condemn the attack and at the same time, the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
The KFOR commander also mentioned that on the critical night of November 29th, he was in close coordination with local and international counterparts to manage the situation.
“I would like to say first that KFOR is positioned to monitor and manage any developments in the local security situation.”
“We detected the incident immediately after it occurred. We responded quickly by securing the area and offering various forms of assistance to the institutions in Kosovo. I want to emphasize once again that NATO and KFOR strongly condemn this attack, and that is why it is essential to identify those responsible and bring them to justice,” Barduani told Klan Kosova.
“KFOR deployed units to secure the damaged water canal area, provided logistical and engineering support, as well as our expertise in deactivating explosive materials. KFOR acted swiftly to stabilize the situation, offering security for the affected area while coordinating closely with local and international counterparts,” he said.
