The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, met today with the Minister of Justice of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu.
During the meeting, Begaj praised the initiatives and new reforms undertaken by the government of Kosovo, particularly in the field of justice, as well as the commitment to align with Euro-Atlantic policies.
“It is a long and not at all easy process,” stated the President of the Republic, emphasizing that implementing reforms in the interest of citizens fulfills our dream as a nation—namely, integration into the European Union.
The meeting highlighted the excellent cooperation between the institutions of Albania and those of Kosovo.
Begaj also expressed the importance of advancing this cooperation on strategic projects such as the Port of Durrës, the Dry Port of Pristina, and their connection through the Durrës-Pristina railway, which will link them more closely.
The Albanian head of state underscored that cooperation among Albanians plays a unique role in the stability, security, sustainable development, and Euro-Atlantic perspective of both countries and the entire region as a strategic goal.
Furthermore, Begaj reaffirmed the commitment to increasing the number of new recognitions and Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, adding that it is crucial to develop joint strategies to present the undertaken reforms and the intended progress.
“Albania has been and will always be there for Kosovo,” stated Begaj, who emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo is an irreversible reality, regardless of any malicious attempts destined to fail.
