“Many positive things are happening here, which are good for the whole world. I look forward to seeing the day when Kosovo will take its place in the European family. Soon, I will address the members of the Assembly, but once again I want to express solidarity with the people of Kosovo,” Blair said.

Previously, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, expressed her gratitude to the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, for “saving from extermination.”

The head of state declared that the decision at that time for intervention was the right one and for this, the entire people of Kosovo are grateful.

“The democratic world will forever remember the phrase ‘this is the right thing to do’. 25 years later and every day since, we thank you for guiding the compass of history despite the challenges. In 1999, your role as Prime Minister was crucial, and as you were then a hero of the people and democracy, today you are a hero of peace for the right decision of that time. You saved us from extermination. You said that the intervention in Kosovo was a battle between good and evil. Many children of that time bear your name. Your legacy in Kosovo is a legacy of hope, freedom, and partnership,” Osmani said.
