The Central Election Commission (CEC) has confirmed that vote counting has begun in the majority of polling stations, said Kreshnik Radoniqi, head of the CEC, during a press conference following the conclusion of voting.
Radoniqi stated that so far no incidents have been reported that would compromise the integrity of the elections.
He added that voter turnout exceeded 44%, compared to the previous elections held in February, where based on 91% of processed polling stations, 40% of registered voters had cast their ballots.
In the afternoon, Radoniqi noted that there were short power outages of up to 10 minutes at three polling stations in Rahovec, Dragash, and Han i Elezit, but KEDS quickly resolved the issue.
