The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica has filed an indictment with the Basic Court in the Leposaviq branch against the defendant R.M., charging him with the criminal offense of “Unauthorized possession, control, or ownership of firearms,” reports KosovaPress.
The prosecution stated that on October 31, 2024, in the village of Soqanicë, municipality of Leposaviq, R.M. intentionally and in violation of the law, possessed and controlled illegal firearms, including a hunting rifle and sixteen hunting rifle cartridges.
Additionally, during a search of the defendant’s home, authorities found and confiscated:
- One (1) semi-automatic rifle
- One (1) automatic rifle
- One (1) air rifle
- One (1) military gas mask
- Five (5) different knives
- Two (2) Serbian police caps
- Twenty (20) cartridges placed in military pouches
- Ninety (90) cartridges of various calibers
- One (1) pair of binoculars for rifles
- One (1) rifle bayonet
- One (1) police baton
- Eighty-seven (87) hunting rifle cartridges
- One (1) radio communication device
The State Prosecutor has proposed that the court find the defendant guilty of the committed criminal offense and sentence him according to the law.
