Charlie Kirk, a prominent right-wing activist close to U.S. President Donald Trump and CEO of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was shot during an event at Utah Valley University.
Social media footage captured the moment Kirk was shot while speaking under a tent on campus, causing panic among students as gunfire erupted. Kirk was participating in the “American Comeback Tour”, organized by the local TPUSA chapter.
His team confirmed to Fox News that he was injured, but his current condition is unknown. The university police confirmed the shooting, and the FBI is actively investigating the incident and providing full support.
President Donald Trump confirmed that Charlie Kirk had been injured and called for prayers. Vice President JD Vance also urged people to pray for Kirk, describing him as “a good man and a young father.” California Governor Gavin Newsom condemned the attack, calling it “horrific and shameful.”
Utah Senator Mike Lee stated that he is closely monitoring the situation and requested prayers for Kirk and the students present.
Just before the shooting, Kirk posted on social media: “We’re back. Utah Valley University is up and ready for the first American Comeback Tour.”
