Former President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi has pleaded not guilty to a second indictment issued against him in The Hague on charges of obstruction of justice.
“Completely innocent,” Thaçi said when asked by the judge to enter his plea.
All other defendants in the case — Bashkim Smakaj, Fadil Fazliu, Isni Kilaj and Hajredin Kuçi — also pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
On November 29, 2024, the Pre-Trial Judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers confirmed the indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Bashkim Smakaj, Fadil Fazliu, Isni Kilaj and Hajredin Kuçi, subsequently issuing four arrest warrants and one summons.
According to the indictment, the accused face criminal charges related to alleged unlawful attempts to influence witness testimony in the ongoing war crimes trial against Thaçi and others.
