The University Clinical and Hospital Service of Kosovo (SHSKUK) has announced that the medicinal contrast IOHEXOL 350 mg/ml, which is used for diagnostic imaging purposes, has been confirmed as safe for use, and the suspension of its use has been lifted, reports Rks News.
This product had been suspended for two months after allergic reactions were reported in some patients.
In the SHSKUK announcement, it is stated: “The University Clinical and Hospital Service of Kosovo (SHSKUK) informs the public that the medicinal product IOHEXOL 350 mg/ml (non-ionic contrast), which is used for diagnostic purposes in imaging, has been confirmed as safe for use and the suspension has been lifted.”
The decision was made after analyses conducted by an accredited laboratory abroad and a report sent by the Pharmacovigilance Department at the Kosovo Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices (AKPPM).
Additionally, the Pharmaceutical Inspectorate has confirmed that the product meets all safety and quality standards for medical use, ensuring that patients can use it with confidence.
