The Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, reiterated Croatia’s strong support for Kosovo’s aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integration during a meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Zagreb on Friday, as stated in a release from the Croatian Parliament.

Jandroković emphasized Croatia’s unwavering backing for Kosovo’s membership aspirations, stressing that this support contributes significantly to the security of Kosovo and the stability of the entire region. He further acknowledged the positive and developed bilateral relations between Croatia and Kosovo, describing them as friendly and based on partnership.

The Speaker also called for strengthened parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and highlighted the historical presence of the Croatian people in Kosovo for over seven centuries. He urged Kosovo’s institutions to intensify their efforts in protecting the social, political, and legal status of Croats living in Kosovo.

In discussing the position of the Albanian national minority in Croatia, Jandroković noted that their rights are guaranteed by the Croatian Constitution and that they receive continuous support from both state and local authorities for their projects.

Both Jandroković and Kurti expressed satisfaction with the high growth rates of trade between the two countries, agreeing that there is significant potential to further improve cooperation.

“The Economic Forum held today in Zagreb will certainly help strengthen the general economic and business relations between the two countries’ businessmen,” the statement from the Croatian Parliament read.
