Taulant Balla, Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party of Albania, has reiterated the Albanian Parliament’s position regarding the Hague verdict against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
During a parliamentary discussion, Balla said that the Albanian Parliament expressed its deep indignation over the verdict, which it considers deeply unjust.
“The Albanian Parliament expresses its deep indignation and complete disagreement with that decision, which it considers deeply unjust toward the four KLA leaders. The Albanian Parliament reiterates a historical truth that cannot be relativized,” Balla declared.
According to Balla, the Kosovo Liberation Army’s war was a war for the freedom and liberation of Kosovo.
“The war of the Kosovo Liberation Army was a war for the freedom and liberation of Kosovo. It was the struggle of a people to put an end to repression, violence and persecution, and to gain the right to live freely in their own country, for all nationalities living in Kosovo,” he said.
“The KLA emerged as a response to the systematic repression, violence, ethnic cleansing and genocide committed by the regime of Slobodan Milošević,” Balla said.
