EU Special Envoy Peter Sorensen announced that he is ready to resume dialogue between Belgrade and Prishtina as soon as both sides are prepared.
Meetings in Brussels
Yesterday in Brussels, Sorensen hosted bilateral and trilateral talks with the main negotiators from Kosovo and Serbia, focusing on the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement and the resolution of missing persons cases.
“Unfortunately, the inaugural session of the Joint Commission on Missing Persons did not take place. I am ready to continue as soon as the parties are ready,” Sorensen wrote on his X social media profile.
Key Discussion Points
The meetings included Serbia’s Petar Petković and Kosovo’s Besnik Bislimi, mediated by Sorensen. Separate sessions were also held with each delegation prior to the trilateral meeting.
Petković stated that Belgrade emphasized the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities, a topic of little interest to the Prishtina side. He also noted that there were concrete discussions on forming the Joint Commission on Missing Persons.
