Prindon Sadriu, the husband of President Vjosa Osmani, has drawn a comparison between the meetings held by Osmani and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.
In a post on X, Sadriu said that while Đurić waited in a corridor for a photo opportunity with Rubio, President Osmani was received in his office, despite the presence of other leaders in the U.S. capital that day.
“Serbia’s Đurić waits in line for a photo in the corridor. Meanwhile, President Vjosa Osmani is received in the personal office of Secretary Marco Rubio — even though more than 20 European leaders were in Washington, D.C. that same day. Leadership is not about proximity to power. It is about earning respect,” Sadriu wrote.
Osmani met with Rubio last week in Washington during her visit to attend the inaugural meeting of the Peace Board.
Regarding Đurić’s encounter with Rubio, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said on Thursday that the meeting had not been planned in advance.
