Former President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has carried out an official visit to NATO’s Joint Forces Command in Naples, which oversees operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The visit was made at the invitation of Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, Commander of this major NATO structure.
In a post shared on Facebook, Jahjaga stated that during her meeting with Admiral Munsch, discussions focused on integrating the principles of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda into NATO’s current and future operations. She emphasized Kosovo’s vital role as a reliable partner in promoting peace and stability in the region.
“I expressed my admiration for the outstanding contribution of NATO and KFOR in Kosovo, who for more than 20 years have ensured a safe and peaceful environment for our citizens. NATO’s intervention in 1999 was a decisive moment that ended a tragedy and opened the path to our freedom,” Jahjaga stated.
Jahjaga also highlighted the strong and lasting cooperation between Kosovo and NATO, underlining that preserving peace is not achieved solely through force, but through shared democratic values and sustainable partnerships.
