On Wednesday, France rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments suggesting that the United States could take control of Gaza and relocate Palestinians to other areas.

In an official statement, France reaffirmed its strong opposition to any relocation of the Palestinian population from Gaza, describing it as a serious violation of international law, an attack on the legitimate aspirations of Palestinians, and a major obstacle to a two-state solution. The move would also destabilize relationships with key partners such as Egypt and Jordan, as well as the broader region.

Christophe Lemoine, spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the future of Gaza must be viewed within the context of a future Palestinian state, and it should not be under the control of any third-party country.
