Germany’s governing coalition, composed of the conservatives (CDU/CSU) and the Social Democrats (SPD), has fallen to a record low level of public support, according to the latest INSA poll conducted for the newspaper Bild.
The survey, carried out between September 29 and October 2 among 1,186 voters, shows the CDU/CSU dropping to 24%, while the SPD has fallen to 14%. Combined, the governing coalition reaches only 38% support — the weakest result since the start of its mandate in May.
Meanwhile, the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) maintains its strongest position with 26%, the Left Party rises to 12%, the Greens fall to 11%, and both BSW and FDP remain below the 5% threshold needed to enter the Bundestag, each polling at 4%.
However, experts note that polls represent only a snapshot of current public sentiment and do not necessarily predict final election results.
