Chris Bennett, spokesperson for the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) in The Hague, said that the institution’s mandate will remain in effect until the investigations and any proceedings arising from them have been concluded.

“The mandate of the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office continues until the Council of the European Union notifies the institutions of Kosovo that the investigations and any proceedings arising from them have been concluded,” Bennett told Radio Free Europe.

Meanwhile, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) lawmakers have called for a parliamentary session on abolishing the Specialist Chambers, while PDK leader Bedri Hamza said that “all democratic and legal actions are possible.”
