The Chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, declared that the constitutional deadline for voting on the new government expires tomorrow, and according to him, the President has no mandate to appoint anyone to form the government without proof that the nominated candidate holds the necessary majority.
Haradinaj made these remarks in a Facebook post, following the decision of Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) to nominate Glauk Konjufca as candidate for Prime Minister.
“The necessary majority is proven only through deposited signatures of Members of Parliament. In any other situation, the President would commit a serious constitutional violation,” Haradinaj wrote.
He added that VV’s second nomination for forming a government is merely an attempt to continue the capture of state institutions, contrary to all constitutional and political norms.
“This farce must end immediately, and the country should go to extraordinary parliamentary elections,” Haradinaj emphasized.
