Albulena Haxhiu, acting President of Kosovo, has urged the diaspora to register and participate in upcoming elections.
In a video address, she emphasized that the diaspora has always stood by Kosovo, even when borders, violence, and distance tried to keep them away.
“The registration period for voting from abroad starts today and runs until May 17. Register to vote. You have been close to Kosovo even when borders, violence, and distance tried to keep you away. You have worked and sacrificed to support our homeland. You have been the voice of Kosovo everywhere in the world. Continue your contribution to the Republic of Kosovo and become part of decision-making,” she said.
Haxhiu also encouraged diaspora members to help one another register and to inform family members, friends, and young people born abroad but still connected to Kosovo.
She reminded that early parliamentary elections are scheduled for June 7.
