Hoxha meets Commissioner Kos in Brussels: Sustainable reforms toward the EU

Ferit Hoxha, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, met in Brussels with the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.

Minister Hoxha stated that the focus of the meeting was the advanced stage of accession negotiations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the current momentum and continuing consistently along this path.

According to Hoxha, Albania’s choice is clear—its path toward the European Union is built on strong commitments, sustainable reforms, and concrete results.

The Foreign Minister added that discussions also covered the implementation of the Reform Agenda במסגרת the Growth Plan, which in Albania’s case complements the EU accession process and brings tangible benefits to citizens.

Hoxha underlined that “continuous alignment with EU standards, strengthening the rule of law and an independent and professional judiciary, as well as steady progress across all negotiation chapters, remain Albania’s daily priorities.”

During the meeting, the importance of clear communication about the benefits and responsibilities of enlargement was also highlighted, with the aim of increasing public support and enhancing transparency.

For her part, Commissioner Marta Kos praised the progress achieved by Albania and stressed the importance of continuing reforms, reaffirming that the enlargement process remains merit-based.
