The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (IKShPK) has issued a public appeal urging citizens supplied by the Badoc Lake Water Plant not to use the water for drinking purposes until further notice.

Laboratory analyses conducted over the past week showed manganese concentrations exceeding the permitted limit of 0.05 mg/L, as set by Administrative Instruction No. 10/2021 “On the Quality of Water for Human Consumption.”

🔎 Key findings from the monitoring in zone PR03 – Badoc (08–15 September 2025):

  • 09.09.2025 & 11.09.2025: maximum values recorded were 0.429 mg/L (Hyzri Talla Street) and 0.449 mg/L (Muharrem Fejza Street).
  • 15.09.2025: maximum value recorded was 0.117 mg/L (Enver Maloku Street).

IKShPK clarified that while the water may still be used for cleaning, personal hygiene, and household maintenance, it should not be consumed as drinking water until further updates are issued.

The institute reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health and promised timely updates to citizens regarding any new developments.
