In a decisive police operation, two illegal biochemical laboratories operating in Fushë Kosovë have been shut down, their owners arrested, and a significant amount of equipment seized, authorities confirmed.

The action was conducted by the Kosovo Police’s Economic Crimes and Corruption Investigation Unit, following intelligence indicating that the labs were conducting medical analysis without complying with legal standards.

🔹 “These laboratories operated without licensed medical personnel, in clear violation of health regulations,” the police stated.

Criminal Investigation and Evidence Collection

Law enforcement authorities launched a criminal investigation based on credible reports about illegal medical activities. Special investigative measures were applied, allowing officers to gather material evidence supporting initial suspicions.

🔹 “Inspections revealed multiple legal violations,” said officials involved in the operation.

Inspection and Seizures

The operation was carried out in coordination with the Health Inspectorate, which documented numerous breaches during on-site inspections. As a result, both laboratories were immediately closed.

Authorities seized:

  • Electronic equipment
  • Medical documents and records
  • A corporate seal (stamp)
  • Other relevant materials for the ongoing investigation

Arrests and Prosecution

Two individuals—the owners of the laboratories—were arrested at the scene. Upon the order of the competent Prosecution Office, they have been placed in detention pending further legal proceedings.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina, with investigations set to continue in the coming days.

🔹 “This action reflects our ongoing commitment to uphold legality in the health sector,” Kosovo Police stated in closing.
