The Kosovo Police have intensified patrols in the border area between Kosovo and Serbia in the mountains of Istog.
Last week, there were reports of frequent patrols by Serbian police and military forces.
Although there has been no provocation, local shepherds have been concerned by their presence, especially during the summer when many tourists visit this area.
Border patrol units have already responded and have been present in the western region of Gjakova and as far east as the border.
Today, the director of the border police, Colonel Nexhmedin Krasniqi, Captain Asmir Zekiq, the commander of the green border line, Adem Hoxhiq, the head of operations, Adem Dreshaj, and other border police officers were present in the area.
They also held meetings with local residents, assuring them that there is no danger and that KFOR units will continue to patrol the area regularly.
