The Italian president, Sergio Mattarella, has spoken about the war in Ukraine, the war in Gaza, as well as the impact these wars have had on Europe.
He highlighted the conflicts that have engulfed the world, stressing that this situation undermines peace in Europe and threatens its security.
“In the geopolitical reality we live in where conflicts and wars undermine peace and now directly threaten the freedoms and security of Europe itself, the Army confirms itself as an essential element of our military instrument, in defense of the Republic and the values of its Constitution and to support stability and international coexistence”.
