On the 28th anniversary of the fall of the Jashari family, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, honored the heroism of the legendary commander Adem Jashari.
Sharing a photograph of his statue, which reflects the greatness of the legendary commander, Osmani wrote:
“From sublime sacrifice to freedom, a story that continues to live as an oath, as inspiration, and as a guide for generations.”
Today marks 28 years since the beginning of the KLA Epic a turning point in the history of the people of Kosovo.
On March 5, 6 and 7, 1998, Serbian forces surrounded the Jashari family compound in Prekaz.
In an unequal confrontation, Adem Jashari, together with members of his family, chose resistance until sacrifice, becoming a symbol of unbreakable determination and the resolve for liberation.
