Kosovo has closed its General Consulate in Struga, with consular services now being centralized at the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Skopje.
The decision was announced by the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in North Macedonia.
“Pursuant to Decree No. 150/2025 of the President of the Republic of Kosovo and in implementation of the accompanying Decision No. Ref. 261/2026 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, we inform you that the General Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in Struga, Republic of North Macedonia, has been closed,” the embassy said in a statement.
According to the announcement, the decision was made following an assessment of the mission’s activity and is intended to optimize institutional resources.
“The decision is based on an assessment of the dynamics of this consular mission and is aimed at optimizing resources, in accordance with the overall institutional objectives and needs,” the statement said.
Kosovo will, however, maintain a presence in Struga through the office of the Republic of Kosovo’s Honorary Consul, who is responsible for the consular district covering the city.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of Kosovo in Skopje will continue, alongside its diplomatic responsibilities, to provide consular services to Kosovo citizens throughout the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.
