Kosovo Customs will close 2024 with revenues exceeding 1.823 billion euros for the budget of the Republic of Kosovo, surpassing the previous year by over 150 million euros, or 9%, as well as exceeding the annual projection by 50 million euros, or 3%.

Customs has announced that the revenue increase was achieved despite the expansion of the range of products exempt from customs duties, such as machinery, raw materials, and energy resources, within the support schemes for local producers, as well as the deepening of products subject to free trade agreements.

The effect in these categories this year reached 367 million euros, an increase of 10%, or 34 million euros more compared to last year.

“Despite these exemptions, Kosovo Customs continued to outperform the country’s economic growth rate, showing sustained efficiency in combating the informal economy and implementing strategic reforms. Operational improvements and advanced services have also been highlighted.”

“Kosovo Customs processed a total of 536,212 customs declarations, an increase of 10.7% compared to 2023. The Port of Durres saw significant growth, reaching 72,956 declarations, or 17% more. Seventy percent of shipments were processed at state terminals, and these two measures together have contributed to operational savings of over 20 million euros for Kosovo’s economy,” the statement said.
