The Customs of the Republic of Kosovo announced today that its Anti-Smuggling Units have seized approximately 400 suspected counterfeit textile items in the city of Gjilan.
Photographs released by Customs indicate that the seized goods are indeed textile products.
Kosovo Customs stated there is reasonable suspicion that these products infringe upon well-known trademarks protected by Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
“Today, the Anti-Smuggling units of Kosovo Customs, in the continuation of their activities for the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), carried out a targeted control at a business entity in the city of Gjilan,” the announcement read. “The control was undertaken as a result of earlier confiscations of goods with counterfeit trademarks, which constitute a violation of intellectual property rights. During this control, approximately 400 textile articles were identified and seized, for which there is reasonable suspicion that they are products infringing trademarks protected by IPR.”
